Wednesday Caterwaul: Panthers Open Forum
"While two Leafs goaltenders were in meltdown mode, at the other end of the ice Jose Theodore was enjoying a second stone-job on the visitors. The veteran goalie made 15 saves through the first two periods to hold off the Leafs while his teammates made the most of their few scoring opportunities by scoring four goals on eight shots. He finished with 29 saves."

Do they ever host the Panthers Live! events in any other Duffy’s? Mainly the one next to Town Center Mall?
- Go Panthers -
Guessing they try to keep these events as convenient as possible for the players, since they all live (generally) around Plantation.

They might also have a deal with the venue.

Occasionally, though they use the one by the arena most often. But there was one in North Miami Beach earlier this season.

Injury Updates
Why is it so hard to find out the status of our injured players? I listen and read everything I can find on the Cats every day but find nothing on the injuries. All I know is Weiss and Sammy seem “close” to return. How about Bergie? He was playing so well when he went down as was Skille. Do you think we will pick anyone up or stay put?
HCM
Re: injuries…any details on the individual status of each player can have a negative effect on the club during trade negotiations, i.e. other GMs have the “upper hand” by knowing FLA is in a tough spot, personnel-wise.

Why is it so hard to find out the status of our injured players?
Because the league doesn’t force teams to be honest about them. The Leafs are even worse than the Panthers in this regard.

good thing
great penalty killer—burned Panthers many times on the kill while with NJ. Good face-off man, and MORE STANLEY CUP WINNING EXPERIENCE. I would think Goc is worse off than team is letting on.
Goc has a concussion, so there really is no forecasting his return. I’d rather he comes back 100% next season rather than being rushed and getting Crosby’d a few games in
I’m putting here for reflection later on in the season…. #14 Tomas [Fleischmann] is getting a 40G season. FLASH COUNT: 13G/19A

I don’t know if it’s Goc as much as it’s Goc, Sturm & Upshall all out for at least a couple more weeks and Madden is a good available player that they don’t have to give anything up for.

Toronto article
What exactly was Dineen saying about his relationship with Jose there? They been unsure of his play up until his performance last night?
I hereby predict Captain Mike Weaver #43 will score 6G 20A -RCR 0G9A 12/6

He’s referring to the win we had in Toronto.

Yes, but was their relationship in question before that? That seemed to be the inference.

Maybe David Shoalts should pick up a roster card next time...
“Reimer was pulled four minutes, 13 seconds into the second period after he allowed his third goal on seven shots, a deflection by Panthers forward Jason Garrison.”
First of all, it wasn’t a deflection, it went straight in. Secondly, Jason Garrison isn’t a forward… Jesus, even in victory we get no respect in the Canadian media…
Sorry. I get all hopped up when the Canadian media and fans act all . . . . I’ll quit while I’m ahead

What a surprise last night.
For the first time in years I have missed a home. I didn’t even miss the home game in Helsinki. A situation last night prevented me from attending the game and sitting in Sec 102 Row 18 so I had to watch the game on FSF HD. I knew that I was missing something this season at the games and that is “replays” on the scoreboard. This year I have found myself yearning for replays at the games but only seeing advertisements when critical penalties and plays should be shown. Especially bad calls which will get the crowd motivated against the refs making bad calls hopefully. Sitting at home last night watching TV, I got to see replays several times on almost anything that was worthy of a replay. If this advertising keeps up at this rate I may give up my season ticket renewal and just stay home instead of putting up with all of those endless advertisements on the scoreboard. It was much better listening to Goldie and Billy than our in game announcer coupled with the lag between goals and announcing them.

Seems like wifi and 3G signals are blocked/limited to fans without access to press credentials. I wrote to Panthers about this with no reply. It’s frustrating to be at games and not even being able to stream Randy’s play by play to my BT headset.
