The Cats are in Blueland this evening, taking part in one of those all-important "four point" affairs that evidently significantly help or harm a club's chances of making the postseason. Or gaining a lottery pick.

Whatever your stance may be, it's a big game from any angle: Atlanta currently leads Florida by 4 points, while the Islanders trail by 2.

Looking forward to seeing new Thrasher Radek Dvorak; he's pointless (2 SOG, 1 hit) in the first pair of games as a 'bird, but his new club has only scored twice in those matches anyway (0-2). And they were "buyers" on Monday.

Just a thought: Niclas Bergfors - one of the primary pieces involved in the Ilya Kovalchuk trade of a season ago - should find motivation comes rather easy for him tonight. I said "should".

OT: Lots of talk in recent days over the Panthers' vacant captaincy position in the aftermath of Bryan McCabe's transfer to the Rangers a week back, so off to the obligatory poll we go...
