Florida Panthers forward - and Madison, Wisconsin native - Jack Skille has been named to the USA Hockey 2011 Men's National Team, which will participate in the upcoming IIHF World Championship from Slovakia. Further ties to the Cats include equipment manager Chris Scoppetto and Team USA advisory board member Dale Tallon.

Tournament play begins April 30th.

Congrats to him. Always was a little bit of a Skille fan, but I didn’t think that he’d be on the USA team. Most likely because Tallon is on the board.

Yea, and we’ve all seen what he’s capable of. He gets some great chances, much like Repik, but Skilles more ready for the NHL than him and placing him on maybe the second line with Booth and Santorelli, just like towards the end of this season, would add energy to those lines. He skates like a complete maniac also, I always joke with my friends that he might kill someone on the ice one day. He’s much better than Frolik, and let’s admit it, Frolik wasn’t gonna be staying because he doesn’t hit.
