I don't want to go off-topic from the Panthers and all, but this will affect us for this upcoming season. On this upcoming Tuesday, the NHL will announce that the Thrashers are going to be relocating to Winnipeg. It sucks for the fans in Atlanta that are trying to rally to keep the franchise, but unfortunately the deal has already been placed. I get all off this information from this link: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/atlanta-thrashers-moving-to-winnipeg/article2029179/comments/
This affects us because now all of the Southern division teams, including the Panthers, will have to play six games against them. Including three on the road. So that means three tiring trips to Canada to take on the Jets. For one season. It is expected that after next season, the Thrashers, or soon to be called the Manitoba Moose instead of the more popular Jets name because the NHL owns the rights to the "Jets" name and logo and all, will move to the Western Conference, while one of the teams from the West will move over to the East. The three most likely teams that might move are Detroit, the most likely team to move due to TV start times and being in the Eastern Standard Time, Nashville, or Columbus. Obviously, it would be interesting to see Detroit move over because then they would play the Original Six franchises, other than Chicago, four times per season and would re-ignite old rivalries.
