Panthers 18th Anniversary Team: Defense and Goalies
You can see the forwards here, but now it's time for the defense and goaltending. Will your favorite defensemen make the list? Jovo and/or Rhett Warrener deserve to be on that list as much, if not more so than Allen.
Even McCabe being from the same era, deserves inclusion more so.
And where is the master of the slapshot, Magnus Svensson, who could take a slapshot from either side of his body.
Both of those guys are good
But Allen’s defense is enough to be better.

Allen’s defense was no more remarkable than Warrener his rookie season, who only got better. Allen didn’t do anything to put him on a top Panthers list, except inclusion of worst trades in Panther history. It was Warrener who played with Carkner during the 96 playoffs and shut down opposing top lines, as a rookie.

Rhett Warrener was great on defense, but only in 96-97, his first full season. After that his defense went down hill. If Warrener played in Florida longer, he’ll likely make the list.

Not to mention, Warrener took three teams to the Cup finals in his first season with each team. When has Allen even seen the Cup?

This is the Panthers team, the players are judged for what they did in Florida.

Hey!
Why no Lance Pitlick!? His hair was certainly deserving of mention. :)
