Major team branding announcement on monday. Its all about NOW and our bright FUTURE!

I'm going to take a bit of a personal risk here by guessing this is not a marketing partnership declaration; by using the term "branding" it's probably safe to assume we'll be learning more about the new uniforms - featuring a return of the primary red color - and likely a pre-buy opportunity leading to the actual unveiling at the Draft on June 24th.

Again, just a guess.

Plenty reason to be scared. Every other team makes announcements about hockey things, we get marketing 101. Totally classless unless your trying to make the cover of Marketing Age.

He's made a deal with Winnepeg..

To in turn give Atlanta back their team and moving the cats to Winnepeg instead. They will forever be ‘branded’ the Winnepeg Yormark’s! He in turn will receive royaltys on the name making far more than he ever did under any ‘sponsor’.

Panthers are changing their name, making a move to the Florida Jets, before Winnipeg has the ability to reclaim the name. The Panthers will then also announce scrapping the idea of returning to red jerseys, and go with different shades of blue, whether ir be a dark blue, a sky blue, or an ocean blue. Final announcement will be a partial sale of the franchise to JetBlue, and the official renaming of the arena as the “Hangar”.

And if this came true, I would crap myself and become a Lightning fan.

Brilliant.

Different shades of blue would be fine as long as we dont steal the Sharks lovely teal. I’ve played hockey in a teal jersey before, its horrible. If the Cats moved to teal jersey who would be more embarrassed, the players wearing them or you crapping your pants?
