We should totally swing a trade with the Avs to get Hishon.
by Chris S Roberts on Jul 10, 2011 12:09 PM EDT reply actions
I was just on the phone with Avs GM Greg Sherman. He said to keep his streak going, he’ll just trade us Hishon for an Autographed team stick. He also said since he understands that since shipping the stick through the mail would be expensive, he’s throwing some kid name Duchene in as well.
After I said bye, I was putting the phone down and I hear him saying, “Mwahaha, fleeced ’em.”
Surely there is a first round pick in this deal?!

There is a nice little write up on the Palm Beach Post about season ticket prices going up- that’s interesting..
The Poor Islanders- The Nassau Collesium needed to be burned down and rebuilt when I was a kid in NY. Grit, Spit and Duct tape only last so long…
Be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't make assumptions, always do your best...
Palm Beach Post
WROTE TWO articles on the ‘Cats on B2B days. First time any writer for them has touched the Panthers in almost 3 years. The times they are a changin. Im hopin’ Briggane get his old job back. He is by far my favorite writer for the Post.
Seriously Turtle, Smoke More Weed
The Post outsources a majority of their stuff now, whether it be writing, or even actually printing the paper. One of the guys I work with used to be one of their mechanics for the presses, and they closed it all down and pay the Sentinel to print the paper now. Briggane is their Dolphins’ beat writer now, and anything else they need to fill space and can’t get from the Herald or Sentinel.

Sources saying...
Stamkos told Stevie Y to begin looking for a trade, and that he listed 4 teams he would want to go to Toronto, Habs, Flames, and the fourth I have yet to see or find..
Sounds to me like he wants his career to go nowhere in terms of ever winning a Cup (if this is in fact true). Of course Toronto fans are already celebrating..
i could see kulemin and/or komisarek, kadri, another prospect and a few picks
I wouldn’t trade Stamkos to Toronto for anything less than Schenn and atleast 1 first rounder, possibly 2 and a prospect.
by Rob PKane McMahon on Jul 10, 2011 3:36 PM EDT reply actions
I also think the NHL needs to seriously rethink their coverboy for NHL12.
by Rob PKane McMahon on Jul 10, 2011 3:36 PM EDT up reply actions
If he wants a Cup he should just stay with TB rather than go to Toronto…
Plus that, Stevie Y holds the cards, Stamkos will go to whoever offers the most. Its not like Stamkos has a NTC/NMC as an RFA…
by Chris S Roberts on Jul 10, 2011 3:42 PM EDT up reply actions
he can however state that he wont sign with the team, as im sure whoever trades for him will want to either do a sign and trade or talk to him first..
if this is in fact true and toronto is a player for him i suggest stevie Y takes it to them, milks them for everything to ensure their future is just as bleak as the past has been.
take no less then schenn 2 first rounders, kadri and another prospect.
hell at this point i wouldnt even mind if he got traded to philly ahead of toronto.
by Rob PKane McMahon on Jul 10, 2011 3:45 PM EDT up reply actions
If Stamkos doesn’t sign wouldn’t it just be a Nabokov scenario though? Surely he’d rather play the game he loves and get paid big bucks no matter what team he goes to…
by Chris S Roberts on Jul 10, 2011 3:47 PM EDT up reply actions
if he suggested mtl calgary or toronto to go to i dont think its about playing the game because he clearly wont win with any of those teams like he could with tb

Greedy greedy. Thats why he wouldnt fit in with the guys Dale is collecting.

Additionally
Seriously? The Maple Leafs, Habs, and Flames? This reeks of Canadian media “rumormongering”. If his performance in this year’s playoffs is any indication, the dude wants to win and I severely doubt that this rumor is anything more than wishful thinking ala Vinny Lecavalier.

You mentioned VL4 before I had the chance.
Once Stammer is re-signed, it’ll be back to business on the Vinny rumors.

The Bolts’ beat writers have been swatting these rumors for weeks now. These are only Elklund level speculation and there is no substantiation or sourcing for these rumors.
Latest from Yzerman
Asked if any team has come forward with a proposal:
"Absolutely not. I’m not interested in discussing a possible trade. I’m committed to re-signing Steven."

If he decided to show up, great. If not, they still hold his rights. Likely would have just gone to San Antonio anyway.
