Good set of articles for the week.

I’m still wondering though why everybody that isn’t a Panther fan considers Michael Repik one of our top prospects.

Think its a matter of age and lack of system depth (esp with ‘older’ prospects).

by KubKub on Jul 24, 2011 12:38 PM EDT up reply actions

Having the best work ethic of all the prospects and better vision than anyone else in the organization is hurting him either.

Thats about it. Repik is the guy people recognize from years prior to the Tallon picks.

I miss you already Olesz. What we had was tight. Still pulling for those 85 goals you were going to score under Dineen. Chicago will appreciate them, I'm sure.

I think the jury is still out on repik. He needs more growing time before he can be promoted. No reason to rush the kid.

Hmm, wouldn’t it be hilarious if the Coyotes were able to resign one of their players early and use the ‘tagging’ rules to pull them over the cap? :)

Are the panther seats now red at the arena?

I saw a tweet by Yormuck that the seats are being turned red at the arena? Anyone know if this is actually going to happen?

If so, props to the Panthers because they beat the caps on changing their arena around despite the Caps famous rock the red slogan….

Saw a photo earlier in the week showing several seats having already been switched out for red.

They are just red pads.

If you zoom in and look closely at that photo you will notice the seats have not been replaced. They are actually just red pads hanging on the seat-backs.
I would be surprised if they spent the money to replace all of the seats just for a color change.

Thx for the clarification, JP.

Lol,

I guess we will be getting the red seats! I should have known they would be a prime target for advertising.

Really? I thought that was just hearsay. Sweet!

The seats are being changed to red, at least in the lower level. I also heard a possible new jumbotron

Was under the impression new jumbotron was likelier to happen a year from now but hope you’re correct, Graven. Needs to go down asap.

I think the most disturbing article up there is about the Boogaard family. I truly have no words. That is a family that will need a lot of time and privacy to heal among themselves. I wish them the very best.

Interesting article on the Sports Business Journal this morning. I’m not a member so I can’t see the whole article, but here’s the “free” snippet…

Sunrise Sports & Entertainment has signed a three-year deal with Zimmerman Advertising to put its name on 8,689 new red seats in BankAtlantic Center’s lower bowl. The deal’s value is in the mid-six figures annually, according to Sunrise Sports, parent company of the Flor…

He was one of the best defensemen for the Amerks last season and will be a very welcome addition to San Antonio.
