From the Department of No Surprise: Cats get single game televised nationally
Well, it's a start (FLA at Penguins, October 11th on Versus); that's one more appearance than a season ago. Is anyone really shocked or appalled by this not-so-stunning revelation? A decade of underwhelming performances will do that over time. I'm honestly blown away the Panthers got that much. As expected, Canada will see more Cats action (2 games on CBC, 0 on TSN, 1 on TSN2 - the same PIT game above, and 4 on RDS) than Americans outside of the South Florida market. Anyway, schedules below:

Not surprised at all, actually made an eyebrow go up when I saw there was one. If they do what we hope they do this season and become relevant, that number will grow next season.

This isn’t to say we won’t get one or two of those NBC flex games once we get into that Feb-April playoff push!! (You bet I’m gonna keep thinking that while I can ;)
Almost happened this spring in New Jersey. Almost. #MarkstromTVDebutFail

I like that the Sun Sentinel posted to complain that the Panthers didn’t get a single game on TV. Uh…

Could be worse. How do you think fans in Vancouver feel about their Western Conference winning team having 17 CBC games to the Thrashers’ 25?
And really, no one wants to see the Panthers because they’ve been terrible for so long. The Western Conference teams really got stiffed. Some of them are actually good and get nothing so they can show more Chicago-Boston-Rangers-Pittsburgh-Detroit-Philadelphia games.
What I’m annoyed about is the increase in Versus games along with the seriously large number of NHL Network games. That’s a lot of GameCenter blackouts. Might be time to cancel.

Believe it or not, I know a lot more WC hockey than you’d think. My brother’s a huge Red Wings fan, so I saw a lot of WC games when we lived together and had Center Ice 9-10 years ago. I’ve also been following the Sharks since about then.
My favorite hockey moment was in a WC playoff game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lTkNE1z8ss
I hate Patrick Roy.

I’m not going to dispute how great Roy is. I still hate him. He’s the reason I cheer for Brodeur. C’mon Marty, beat some more of Patty’s records!

Sorry, 22 games, not 25. Point still stands.

On second thought, only 6 Sharks games are televised nationally, so at least I’ll be able to see them play. And I think they cut the number of Flyers games, so I’ll probably keep it going another year.

This is why I have Center Ice
Wasn’t expecting us to get more than one or two games on Versus this year, If that.
yep, thankfully they had been better to us this past season and decided to lift the blackout on center ice so we could watch the panther games that werent televised from the opposing teams feed, listening to rick jeanerette is better than not watching hockey at all.
