Interesting list of top 5 Canadiens. I have some hope Theodore returns to form this season.
Also, in Panther news. As seen on the official site.

$25 for lower bowl tickets? No Canadiens? I’d pay a lot more than that to be surrounded by Panthers fans.

Let’s hope that people buy into it so they don’t change their minds and go back to their previous plan. Or even worse, market it both ways.
Florida Panthers, Good Hockey, Great Sponsors!! Panthers STH since 1994 and Lightning STH since 2011.
This is definitely the special for the forseeable future. The Locker Room has been renamed the Red Zone and the plan is to fill it with the most passionate Panthers fans out there. The pack is $1100.00 per seat ($25 per game) and includes a red hat and t-shirt I believe. These are $90.00 face value seats going for $25.00 so its a pretty great deal. As a sales rep, I’m enjoying the deal as quite a few people have jumped on it already.
Ryan Carter is beyond awesome, he hit more in 12 games as a Panther than most of the former team did all season.

Yes I’ll second that :-) and woohoo about that AD!!!

Nope but then again I never thought the marketing department would chuck the team it represents under a bus to sell tickets to opposing team fans.

I mean, desperate times call for desperate measures (and painful measures) but I wonder how many fans they actually reeled in with the cross-promos.

Yeah I know, I know, trust me I know. Plenty of Canadians Chris..Especially on New Years Eve games GGGGGRRRRRR!

This past New Year’s Eve was the first Panthers game I’ve walked out on before it was over…
I just couldn’t take it. :(

It was a gruesome end. If ever there was a need for transporters, this was the game for them. Like walking the green mile.

If I actually renew, you can have my tickets. I’m not going to that again.

Well, I got that ad from the Flyers and I was at the games.
Of course, I already had season tickets. Never mind…

Flying there and back ...
Found this link while reading the comments/replies to the Canucks link above. The Panthers, thanks in part of the relocation of Atlantapeg ThrasherJets, will jump from the 12th place to 2nd place in the Frequent Flyer Mile sweepstakes, just behind the LA Kings. They are adding 9,600 additional miles to their schedule, jumping from 43,144 to 52,751 miles traveled.
Thanks!
Missed that the first time.
Panthers sure do get screwed in a lot of ways you’d never even think about…
by Chris S Roberts on Aug 3, 2011 4:50 PM EDT up reply actions
How are they gettin screwed? Additional travel costs? Tampa and Canes are being affected just the same. Imagine the Thrashers. They have to pay those travel costs four times what the Panthers and rest of the division does, depending on how the schedule is laid out for them.
FLA travels more than every team in the EC, thats a clear disadvantage. Its like they’re a WC team.
by Chris S Roberts on Aug 3, 2011 5:11 PM EDT up reply actions
It’s almost as if the travel distance was upped to compete with our payroll!
anyway, was talking to my toronto buddy and he was looking over florida and atlanta (yeah i said it) and he couldnt believe how equal our teams are, forwards, def etc the only advantage he gave them was goaltending which im up in the air about, it could easily go either way.. he also says the only reason fl would finish better in the standings is because of the traveling atlanta will have to do being a west team playing in the EC… guess I should show him this when the cats finish ahead of the unimproved thrashers.
by Rob PKane McMahon on Aug 3, 2011 7:20 PM EDT up reply actions
The ultimate snub to Winnipeg is just to keep calling them the Thrashers, like how the US wouldn’t recognize an illegitimate govt.
I prefer Thrashers anyways.

Shea Weber struck gold today: http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=373133
supposidly he was asking for 8.5mil before the hearing.. he is now the highest paid dman in the league (i believe) after campbell
by Rob PKane McMahon on Aug 3, 2011 5:54 PM EDT up reply actions
Actually no, Campbell is 2nd at 7.14mil

Preds can still walk away from this, I believe. Almost doubling his salary is just insane. As Shakespeare said, first thing we do is, kill all the lawyers
No they can’t. They took him to arbitration. A team can only walk away from an award after a player-elected arbitration. They have two options: accept the award or buy out the contract.

About that Jon Sim deal...
“On Wednesday, the Islanders mistakenly re-issued a press release from a year ago announcing the signing of Jon Sim to a one-year contract. Computer glitch. It happens (but man, I bet Sim was pretty excited). So I asked on Twitter: which press release would you like to see your team send out?”
