Former Panthers coach Jim Hulton establishes elite youth program in Kingston
From the Whig-Standard:
The seed of starting the program took root in, of all places, Florida: "I ended up at the end of our Panthers' season being approached by a number of parents and did kind of a small-scale version of this down there."

Anyone checking out workouts?
Would love to see some shots of Theodore in his new gear if he has it yet. Guess if Vokie is there he too might have new gear already to go. Plus Clemmer has changed the past few years, so he too might have something…

Too bad one of the other 29 teams didn’t want Jim’s PP expertise.

Apparently...
The 29 other teams had access to Florida’s PP numbers… I’m surprised any parent in Canada allowed their kids to be taught by Hulton…
“Well Johnny, I noticed that when your coach gives you time on the powerplay that you tend to shoot the puck at the net when you have an open look. You seem to score on about 25% of those shots, and it seems like you keeping taking these scoring opportunities when they’re presented to you. Here’s what I think you should do, when you have an open look, pass instead of shooting. Even better, try to pass to a teammate who is clearly well covered by a defender, or pass into a lane that has a defender’s stick in it, this really will be the last thing the opposition is expecting. If you do that I’m confident that we can easily get your powerplay scoring percentage down below 5%”
If Hulton’s advice is anything at all like his coaching while he was here then I think we can bet we will be seeing a decline in the talent coming out of Canada in a few years…
