Saturday Caterwaul: Panthers Open Forum - Training Camp Day Two
Like many of you, a few of us will be heading for Coral Springs this morning as the completely revamped Florida Panthers roster makes its public debut. Deserving of equal attention are the players ultimately bound for San Antonio and Cincinnati (and possibly a few to Rio Grande Valley as well); we know what the Big Boys bring, but one of the pure joys involved in watching training camp action is witnessing the (hopefully) forward progression of the organization's overall depth. These are the guys who receive so few plaudits while plying their trade in cities and leagues such as those above, but have the weight of the club's world placed upon their shoulders during a recall. Show 'em some love.
On the downside, it remains a crime that we're not treated to our NCAA big-timers; Nick Bjugstad, Zach Hyman, etc. deserve a tip of the collective hat.
Full camp roster after the jump...
(In case you haven't "scrolled down" in a while, a regularly-updated roster is posted on the main page, lefthand sidebar)

I plan on it...
guds, and markstrom were huge and they didnt have skates on when i got there autographs
Surprised Marky isn’t getting many votes. Defense is fine w/o Guds, Offense should be fine w/o Hubby, but we’ll need Markstrom as soon as possible. Markstrom MUST come through for us in the future.

I voted Howden because I feel like he has the frame and skating ability to make an impact immediately. Huberdeau should be exciting but I’d like to see him bulk up first.
As for Markstrom, I dont want to rush him on his development. He struggled a bit last year adjusting to the game and is coming off an injury. Maybe At some point in the season I’d like to see him get called up and take the job.
Both of you have valid points. However, after watching a bit of action (if you would call it that) today, I was little bit more nervous about our goalie situiation. Would really like to see Markstrom against the big boys on Monday. I hope help can help quell some of these nerves. As for the goal scoring part I am really really impressed by Hazen. He’s one steal of a deal.
A lil thunder and a lil lightning is what the Cats are going to bring this year.

Seemed like nothing but drills. For a long time.

I voted Howden as well, only because we’ve seen so little of him in comparison.

I was wondering what specifically had you nervous about the goalie situation after today’s practices? I wasn’t there, so I’m totally clueless about what went on. I haven’t seen any details.
Well, if Clemmensen looked like Clemmensen that’s enough to make you nervous. Even when he’s having a great night and stopping everything, he never looks relaxed. He always looks shaky, even when he’s playing great.
I wasn’t there, though, so I don’t know. But I’m always nervous when Clemmensen is in goal because he never looks comfortable. In any case, I’m hoping they rotate goalies on Monday. It would be nice to be able to see Theodore/Clemmensen/Markstrom/Plante in a game situation in one day.

I’ve witnessed Clemm twice now, he’s always been shaky but always plays well. Maybe thats just his style.

Oh, totally. I’m just never sure until well into it how well he’s actually playing. Some guys you can tell right away if they’re having a bad night.

If there was a scrimmage I didn’t see it; had to leave by 12:30. All I witnessed were a LOT of drills.

Whats’s the worst thing about being wrong in saying so- being heckled? That’s nothing, I’ve survived worse. I just feel he is in the right place for his health and once he hits his stride, he’s going to be outstanding this season.
