2011-12 LBC / Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey League complete - Updated
Update - We have filled all 20 spots. Thanks to everyone for their interest!
Somehow we never got around to doing one of these in past years, but since the whole Fantasy Hockey thing is unquestionably all the rage, we'll fire up a league of our own.
Spots are very limited, so if you are interested in participating (and we do mean "interested" - dead teams after two weeks will be strongly frowned upon), shoot an email to us ASAP at pantherslitterbox@yahoo.com; use "LBC Fantasy Hockey" in the title bar, and provide your screen name in the body. We'll forward the log-on info your way shortly after. Best of luck to ya!

My love for Fantasy hockey is unmatchable!
I’m already in the process of thinking of a way to cancel the plans I have the night the draft is scheduled for.. Dedication. Lmao

Being a COMPLETE newb at Fantasy anything, would I be welcome? I love hockey and I’m an avid gamer, so theoretically, I should fit right in. Would just need a bit of guidance/resources.

Everyone – newb or otherwise – is welcome as long as spots are available (and they’re going quickly).

Great name! I laughed at that one when maple was reading the team names to me last night.

Maraschino Protest reporting for duty!
The Protest took the Cup in the Lake Effect league for three of the five seasons they’ve played, but finished a very disappointing last in the league in 2009-2010, their last active year. The Cherries, much like the Florida Panthers, will be looking to make a stunning comeback in 2011-2012.
:D
“Maraschino Protest”; sounds like a David Mamet movie ;) Love it.

I’m a fantasy hockey geek. The ESPN format is better than yahoo imo but count me in for this one if there are any spots left, I like an active league and it’s hard to find people who stick it out the whole way through even if their team is stinkin’
True, that. That’s part of the reason I mothballed my league last year. Three seasons back, we had half the league quit partway through and then we only got six teams the next year.

Litter Box Cats - Your Panthers Colossus.
I usually do the ‘prize’ leagues in ESPN because even if the prize is a joke (a t-shirt, coffee mug, etc.) the fact that you have to pony up cash to play ensures most will stay for the long haul. That’s not to say a well organized fantasy league that is free can’t work, but I really can’t stand the jobbers who join a free league (sometimes with more than one team so they can trade star players to their select team and stack the roster) and ruin the whole thing.
Mothballed? That’s an awesome term for deep sixin’ a league. I’m gonna use it someday !
