Panthers netminder Clemmensen Injured; Severity Unknown
Clemmensen had knee surgery today, will likely miss a few games. We're also told to not be surprised if Plante stays up with the big club instead of Marky Mark. Since Theo will carry the load, they want Markstrom to get a lot of playing time down in SA.
Strap in folks, it's going to get a little bumpy.

What a surprise.. haha.
If it ends up being extended amount of time and Theo can’t hold his own I wouldn’t mind seeing Florida take a shot at Nabokov, he’s been doing well and needs a home since it’s likely NYI will go with Montoya and Dipietro
Now I wonder who they’re going to announce as Captain in the next few days as well.. hmm

More than likely. I just hope he can stay healthy. What good is an injured captain?

If he’s out, roll it to Weiss.

Why Nabokov? He’s not as good as you think!

Jose Theodore can easily repeat his 09-10 season in Washington with the Panthers, no way Evgeni Nabokov comes even close to his 09-10 numbers with the Panthers defense.

Theo had washingtons offense in front of him.. he doesnt have that here. Nabby had a decent offense in front of him but Floridas defense this season is better than SJ’s was that year.

Really? Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Dan Boyle, Rob Blake, Douglas Murray, and Kent Huskins are a lot better than what Florida plans on having on the blueline that season. And Washington’s offense doesn’t help you with a .911 save percentage off 1352 shots in a platoon role.

This should be a nice opportunity for Brian Foster in SA, at least.

i wonder if they’ll play him, or if it will kind of mirror the situation with the cats, theodore carrying the load and plante sitting til clemmer gets back, and markstrom holding it down in SA with foster keeping the end of the bench nice and warm

It would be pointless to trade for a goalie when clemm should be back within 6 weeks, just trading away talent when Markstrom in waiting in the wings and theres a spot opening next year.
If Theo sucks, we’ll just have to bite the bullet.
I’m putting here for reflection later on in the season…. #14 Tomas [Fleischmann] is getting a 40G season.

If Theo sucks then we can say hello to Nail Yakupov… which would be good for two reasons. He’s reallyyyy good. and also because then Alyonka Larionov would finally come to Panther games. lol

That would be a win win. That second one would be the best win ever

Well, Kukla seems to think we’ll be in the market. I say that only happens if Clemmer has a setback is going to miss more than 8 weeks and none of the other guys is up to making the starts.

We kinda are putting all of our eggs in one basket
A lil thunder and a lil lightning is what the Cats are going to bring this year.
Plante is a better goalie than anyone here gives him credit for being.

How much credit does a goalie with no NHL experience and no ceiling higher than a NHL backup deserve?
by Alexander Calloway on Sep 26, 2011 9:21 PM EDT up reply actions
What is it with you and no NHL experience? At one time Dominik Hasek, Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur had “no NHL experience.” So what? When you’re talking about prospects, they generally don’t have any NHL experience, that’s why they’re considered prospects and not NHL players or career minor-leaguers.

Dineen
at least won’t start Eddie 25 games in a row like Jacques Martin did when Craig Anderson was available and sitting on the bench.
