To the chagrin of Senators fans worldwide, the NHL will plug the remaining All-Star Game roster holes today. Much as we in South Florida would surely welcome an even greater Ottawa presence featuring, oh, say offensive firebrands Chris Phillips and Matt Carkner on D, chances are better than lousy that the Panthers' Brian Campbell (33 points) will likely make the cut. Beyond that iron-clad guarantee nothing is in stone, i.e. Kris Versteeg and Jason Garrison are, fair or not, putting from the fringe in a crowded field. But it's only a fantasy game, right?

Quite a few former Panthers on the most overated list. I would say JayBo is by far the most overrated.

I don’t have a problem with him in general, but some of the specific things he’s said were pretty low-class.In some slightly perverse way, I kind of like that he’s not constantly repeating the same old cliches. He’s certainly not boring.
I do feel the need to stick up for him over the “Avery Rule”. I always wondered why no one faced the goalie to screen him until he did it. Then when everyone was up in arms over his actions they realized that the rule book didn’t actually forbid it. Hence, the Avery Rule.

Caps now within four still holding a game in hand.
Panthers have been good at picking up wins when the Caps and Jets have gotten close hopefully that will be the case against the Penguins.

without seeing the lineup yet and with all the good players in the league I’m not sure how badly our other guys got snubbed. You could make a good case for Versteeg but that’s about it. Flash hasn’t been playing that great lately nor Weiss and despite all his goals Garrison is not one of the top D-men in the league.

Turns out the Panthers have had All-Star representation in the past two-three seasons. Dadonov was a rookie on Team Lidstrom last season, Michael Frolik on the rookie team the year in 2009 with Jay Bouwmeester on the regular All-Star team.

I have to say
I love the fact that the Habs are plummeting in the standings and that the fans are turning on every player on the roster, finding a new scapegoat each day. It’s something this arrogant fan base truly deserved and I hope it keeps going.
But i feel terrible for Randy Cunneyworth. You can tell he’s a great personality and he’s really trying to right this ship but the players just don’t have it going. I feel like he will end up paying for this and it’s really not his fault he’s been thrown into this terrible mess, they should have just left Martin suffer the rest of it.
And as of 7:28, they’re behind the Broons 1-0

But the fanbase wants guys who talk like them, regardless of potential/ability. No offense to Bourque – who is from Alberta and has had a solid season – but the fact is the guy they traded is simply a better player who spoke his mind as the year has gone south. He could have picked more astute words in his criticism, yes, but there’s no way Mtl “won” this deal

maybe Montreal didn’t “win” the deal but they certainly didn’t lose it on paper:
if you look at the regular season numbers since MC has been in Montreal Bourque and Cammy are almost equally productive (slight edge to Bourque as a goal scorer) and RB makes a lot less money and is bigger and more physical. Cammy has more natural talent but Montreal may get more bang for their buck with Rene. Cammy gets the edge as a playoff performer though but I don’t think that would matter in Montreal this year.
last two plus seasons while MC has been a Hab:
MC in Montreal 54 goals/ 119 points in 169 games
RB in Calgary 67 goals / 124 points in 191 games.
