Florida Panthers / Marlins Ballpark - NHL Winter Classic Concept

This is my concept for a Winter Classic game at Marlins Ballpark in Miami. Threw a lot of colors out there cause I'm guessing the Fish will want them, also placed signage and logos in both English and Spanish. It's totally possible to have this game even if it isn't a New Year's Eve type of event, maybe a Hispanic Heritage Night (already do a Jewish Chanukah Night). The Panthers could do it for their 20th anniversary season. Florida may be the only southern team with the best chance to host the game due to the snowbirds that come here, the retractable roof negates any weather problems short of Cloverfield monsters, and our team might just be good enough in the future to be that big of a draw.

Love the pic, great work. Love the idea even more, but I think the chances of it happening are slim to none. Unless the Panthers go on a couple year tear of playoff success, it’s going to be driven by ratings and money. If a southern team does get it, my money is on Jerry Jones hosting the Stars in his Texas Stadium mansion. The roof opens, it’s got the glitz factor, it’s got the name recognition, it’s deep in Texas but gets cold enough in January… just don’t see the Panthers having the panache behind them to get something like this. Not in the forseeable future anyways.
But I do love the idea.
Yeah though the people of Dallas aren’t enamored with the Stars nowadays despite having a good squad which is sad

I agree with you. I doubt the Panthers will ever be invited to the winter classic even if it’s hosted elsewhere. Even after the Panthers’ new conference mates get sick of seeing them three times a season each.
The only way it happens for the Cats is if they change format of the game to invite the previous Stanley Cup winner ;)
