Florida Panthers at Winnipeg Jets - Game 47 Preview
Florida: 21-15-10 (52PTS)
Winnipeg: 22-20-5 (49PTS)
Season Series: 1-0-1
Game Time: 7:00 PM EST
Television: CBC
Radio: 560 WQAM
The Panthers made it out of Chicago last night despite the snowstorm that delayed the start of last night's game. The Cats make their second visit of three to Winnipeg tonight. The Panthers are in a slump that has seen them lose an eight point lead on the Capitals for the Southeast Division lead to nothing. The Caps are tied with the Panthers and the Jets are three points behind, making division games for the three teams incredibly important. The Cats gave up two to the Blackhawks last night, but can't afford to let it happen again tonight. The Jets will be without the services of Evander Kane and Tim Stapleton while the Cats just got a whole bunch of players back.

News and Notes
Last meeting
The Panthers won 5-2 in their first visit to Winnipeg this season. Jason Garrison had the game winner.
Last game
The slumping Panthers lost 3-1 to the Blackhawks in Chicago on Friday night. The team was stuck on their bus for two hours in a snowstorm before the game, which started 30 minutes late.
Lineup
Sean Bergenheim, Scottie Upshall and Jack Skille returned to the lineup last game while Mike Santorelli and Matt Bradley sat in the press box. Bradley is apparently nursing a minor injury. There have been no updates from the team from the morning skate and the beat reporters are still in Chicago, so we don't know of any changes to the lineup. Jose Theodore started last night, so Scott Clemmensen could start tonight. However, it's an important division game, and the Panthers are off for a few days after this game, so Theodore could be playing in both games.

- F Marco Sturm (concussion), unknown
- G Jacob Markstrom (knee), 1/7, 4 to 6 weeks
- D Ed Jovanovski (hand), 1/16, two months

Let’s hope the players do some screaming on the ice. Maybe freaking out the other team will give them that edge back.

I have a good feeling about this game tonight. Chicago was the bottom of rock bottom and now its time to start kicking $%# and taking names., getting back to where the Cats beong – in the playoffs
Sorry to see Jovocop out but I don’t think it will be a problem because the defensive corps is so deep
Another west coast Panthers fan who misses a good media noche at Verailles
What you lose in Jovo’s experience, Ellerby improves backend mobility.

Time to turn this around
I believe we’ll win tonight. Look for us to come out strong and get the first goal
Any word on tonight’s starters? Kinda busy through the day…

I do not know what I disliked most about the first period. Either the CBC announcers or the referees. Both are pitiful in my opinion.
Otherwise great first period. Clemmer very strong in net. Versteeg has that fire in him. They did look a little tired towards the end of the period but that second goal was perfect.
