Panthers prospect Colby Robak selected for AHL All-Star Team roster
From the San Antonio Rampage:
Robak, 21, leads the Rampage with a plus-12 rating and is second on the team in points (19) and assists (14). The Dauphin, Manitoba native has five goals and 14 assists through 33 games this season. Robak earns his first AHL All-Star Classic selection in his second year in the AHL. He has appeared in 109 career AHL games with 12 goals and 31 assists with Rochester (2010-11) and San Antonio (2011-12). Robak was selected by the Florida Panthers in the second round (46th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Serious congrats to Colby on making the Classic in just his second pro campaign. Check out our quickie interview with him from almost two years ago - while still with the WHL Brandon Wheat Kings - here.

He’s presumably 8th in line, so it could be a while unless injuries or trades are factored in.

Which really wont happen much. Campbell and Jovo arent moving. Kuli and Guds are obviously staying and are under control. Weaver was just extended and Garrison will get a deal. Then you have Ellerby.
I would say if on the off chance Guds is ever moved and an injury he gets a call
I see Petrovic beating out Robak. More quality prospects means more chips with which to deal.

Petrovic won’t be ready for another two seasons.

I think that ellerby is going to be packaged with santorelli in some type of deal by the deadline which will get rid of one of our defenseman making more room for guys coming up
Dara
You shouldnt expect much from that package… a guy that seems like a 1 and done, and a defenseman that hasnt played. We cant get full value on ellerby because of that.
dont be suprised if we keep ellerby and move kulikov
just saying

Don’t even suggest such things!! Why would you move Kulikov.?!?!?!
I hereby predict Captain Mike Weaver #43 will score 6G 20A -RCR 0G9A 12/6

Moving Kulikov only makes sense if the return is spectacular. Just as an example, if Chicago offered up Sharp for Kulikov I’d say do it, otherwise he gets re-signed.
Hockey is a business, only we fans love it as a game.
Kulikov is maybe worth half of a guy like Sharp — and the more I think about it, the more I’d take that half of a Sharp for him. Our D is fine. Ellerby can take over for Kulikov, if not with the same offensive production, with slightly better defense, especially if he takes right over and gets paired with Weaver, leaving Guds with Jovo. That pairing would have a drastic decrease in offense, but Weaver teaching his trade to Ellerby in every game? That is a thing I have wanted for quite some time. And we’ve still got Robak and Yonkman (and some others where I hate SA’s site too much to figure out whose stats would make them the logical options) in SA if we have injuries.
Why is anyone here even considering trading Kuli? Right when he’s starting to have a breakout season? It makes no sense. He’s been a big part of our success this year. If we’re going to be doing any more upgrading, it’s going to be through free agency, trading prospects, or package deals. I really doubt it’s going to be through trading a kid like Kulikov who’s in his VERY early 20’s and has been having a great season so far.
