I really like bobby ryan and was always kind of “eh” about hiller, but over this season and the past 2 he’s slowly changed my mind, guy could easily be one of the top 3 in the league if his team in front of him had it together.
Kind of makes me not not mind the ducks so much when it comes to watching games.

It’s effing annoying. Other teams’ broadcasts use the intermission to talk about hockey. We have Allison Williams interviewing drunk Marlins or some professor talking about the economics of baseball. I find it incredibly irritating.

That, too. I can understand them doing some cross-promotion with other teams, but the intermission stuff is always dicey. If they’re not showing stuff about other sports, it’s expended promos for “Inside the Panthers.” Why not, umm, I don’t know, interview some players, talk about the game, talk about the upcoming games, show some clips of press conferences at the last game, give the out of town scores. I don’t know, TALK ABOUT HOCKEY?

If the Panthers were number one in the division by a lot more points, they may have gone with this for the 6:00 game, what with Anaheim’s crazy comeback. But not with the Panthers’ uneven play since late December. The only way the Panthers are getting another game on national TV this season is to make the playoffs. We’ll be the series on CNBC.

Not sure. This is actually a pretty good game despite it being Wild-Bruins. But I would have expected one of the three earlier games to have been the marquee game today.
Anyway, I’m digging this 2-0 Minnesota lead. Bruins just can’t get it together.

You know, it has to be said – no matter what happens the rest of the season, whether we win the division or not, whether we make the playoffs or not (and I’m certainly not saying we won’t), the turnaround the team has made this season is amazing and really bodes well for the next few years.

Shaq was constantly fouled toward the end of games to put him on the free throw line which he sucked at basically coming out with little to no points. The Cats go on the power play and it looks like the same thing but in hockey form.

Not when your team doesn’t have enough hardcore fans to keep your team in town, Angy.
At least, not without the help of [CENSORED] snowbirds who cheer for the Panthers’ opponents. And, really, weren’t all hardcore fans casual fans at some point?
But those casual fans realize that teams win and lose. To even think that your team will always win is silly and unrealistic.
As to the snowbirds, you can’t really fault them considering that they moved there from other states.

I’ve often said that I am of the “Take your money and GO HOME!” mentality, but I’m sure that the consequences of that would be far worse than I imagine. And as far as I’m concerned, anyone who actually moves to South Florida and stays through the summer is fine. It’s just the ones that come down in the winter and go back to the Northeast to relearn how to be an [CENSORED] that I would be more than happy to lose.
You think the economy sucks here now, it would be far worse without them. I’m not much for the extra traffic and such in my neighborhood for five months of the year, but they help keep the restaurants, stores and hotels open.

I was. This is my first full Panthers season. So I’m not putting down anyone. If you insult the casual fan for not trying to follow an inconsistent team than we might as well go the way of the Thrashers instead of the Predators. I brought my cousin to 1 game and he loved it and is casually following. But others will take more to get hooked.

They need to switch up their play with their finesse passing etc. Ellerby, Stachan, Gudy, and Yonkman have a ton of size. Why not play one of them at forward next pp and let them sit in front of net since Skille, Kopecky, and Barch have not been doing that.

The door opens in and the guy stands in front of it and then opens the door when the penalty has expired. I don’t know the rule, but I’m pretty sure that anyone pushing past him would get a game misconduct for abuse of officials.

At the end of the day, I don’t see an “effort” stat that talks about how we did. I see one, big goose egg that says “no goal scored,” and that’s all I care about right now. I’d rather take the no-effort win at this point than the effort-filled loss.

It also further exemplifies this team’s innate offensive abilities. We need a legitimate top-6 scoring threat outside of our current top-3, and we need Kuli back because we’re sorely missing another puck-moving defenseman… but with him out for a while now, I wouldn’t mind seeing us pick someone up at the deadline.

Watch the Lightning…….Their Fans….Their dedication….Their work ethic….EVERY NIGHT……Now there’s a TEAM.
Easy to see now, but that fanbase has been cultivated through a Stanley Cup, consistent playoff appearances, and a face to the franchise who also happens to be the best and most dangerous goal scoring threat in the ’Chel.
It’s easy to have a fan work ethic when the organization doesn’t treat its fans like numbers. The Lightning, ever since the Oren Koules debacle, have been an absolutely top-class organization.

Also, Tampa sucks, lots of distractions in So FLA which is an excuse every Miami team uses, sure, but its true. Sunday afternoon I know I’d rather be on the water than watching the $&#@ we’ve seen on this homestand.

It’s not that bad. Nice beaches, the best brewery in the Southeastern US, some decent bars. It’s not like there’s nothing else to do than go to a game. It is, however, a lot easier to get to a game than it is from many areas in South Florida.

And I don’t mean healthy scratches. As far as I’m concerned, everyone on the roster is tradeable. I want to see Weiss succeed here as much as anyone, but if trading him means bringing in someone of equal (or more likely greater) value, go for it. Leave the juniors and prospects out of it unless some AHLer is a deal breaker, but other than that…. something has to change.
After the Ottawa blowout, everyone said OK we’ll get a big effort against Washington now, look out! After the Washington tragedy, everyone said OK, we still have a 2 point lead, this team will respond! They have all year! Now what?

A trade of Weiss would be the official Tallon-stamp on this franchise, an official turning of the pages. It’d be pretty crazy… but if we could get a legitimate center or winger in the process I’d definitely consider.

Weiss being the best center is kinda the whole problem, isn’t it. Why not see if a contender needs a 2nd line center, package him with a draft pick or two, and see if we can get a top 6 guy? It doesn’t even have to be a “star”, just someone different.

Ain’t happening. Last report was that they wanted an impact player, two prospects and a first. The “impact player” they were looking for from Philly was one of Schenn, Bobrovsky, JVR or Couturier. The Panthers don’t have a player like that to give up. And I can’t see Tallon trading two prospects along with a roster player.

Game Plan sucked tonight. No traffic in front of net. No desperation until the third period. They deserved to lose. They still don’t get how to make the playoffs. Not enough talent on this team to win on rushes up ice.

This. It’ll take time but we have big, talented bodies coming up through the organization. The whole team looked a lot better by mixing the bigger guys with the smaller guys too in the second half of the game.
