Expanding quickly on the FanShot Alex posted Wednesday, below is an expanded list of 17 players which have been assigned to the Rampage, Florida’s American Hockey League affiliate in San Antonio. Of course, most of these guys were destined to wind up in SA’s camp anyway, but in this most unusual of pre-season preparation periods it’s simply prudent to get it over with…

In addition, the Rampage reported highly-touted forwards Jonathan Huberdeau and Vincent Trocheck have been "loaned" to their former(?) CHL clubs, Saint John and Saginaw respectively.

Pure speculation: injured blueliner Erik Gudbranson likely would have made the list of those assigned to San Antonio.

A few players listed above may ultimately be placed with the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones, an affiliate shared with the Nashville Predators organization, as rosters begin to take shape over the next few weeks in the event of a lockout by NHL owners if a new collective bargaining agreement is not agreed upon by Saturday evening (11:59 p.m.).
