The Florida Panthers AHL affiliate remains consistently inconsistent with 1-1 weekend.

The San Antonio Rampage continued to hover around the .500 mark by splitting a weekend set on the road. The Rampage skated to a 5-2 win over the Iowa Wild on Friday night in Des Moines and were beaten 4-2 by the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday afternoon.

  • In Friday's game, Greg Rallo scored twice to pace the San Antonio offense and Jacob Markstrom stopped 34 shots to pick up the win in goal. Steve Pinizzotto opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 8:45 of the first period, with Zach Miskovic and Colby Robak collecting the helpers. Zack Phillips scored for Iowa later in the frame to even the score. San Antonio regained the lead when defenseman John Lee beat goaltender Darcy Kuemper with thirteen seconds remaining in the period. Vincent Trocheck and Bobby Butler assisted on the goal. In the second period, Rallo scored from Drew Shore and Jed Ortmeyer to extend the Rampage lead to two. Jonathon Blum beat Markstrom on a power play later in the period to cut San Antoni's lead to 3-2. In the final frame, Jon Matsumoto notched his third of the year from Jack Combs and Quinton Howden before Rallo closed out the scoring with a power-play goal at the fourteen minute mark. Ryan Whitney and Alex Petrovic got the assists on the Rallo goal.
  • On Saturday, the Rampage concluded their three-game road trip with a 4-2 loss to the Rockford IceHogs. The IceHogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period as Terry Broadhurst scored shorthanded and Jeremy Morin lit the lamp on a Rockford power play. Vincent Trocheck scored his seventh of the season late in the period to pull San Antonio within a goal. Drew Shore and Jonathan Racine assisted on the goal. Shore scored again, 42 seconds into the middle frame, from Bobby Butler Butler and Alex Petrovic to forge a tie. Rockford's Brad Winchester beat Dov Grumet-Morris for the game-winner with assists going to Bobby Shea and Broadhurst at 6:19 of the third. Klas Dahlbeck iced the game with an empty-net goal with 37 seconds remaining. Antti Raanta made 35 saves to post the win, while Grumet-Morris turned aside 30 shots in the losing effort. New acquistion Dylan Olsen made his Rampage debut, against his old team, and finished with a +1 rating and three shots on goal.

San Antonio now sports a 7-8-0-1 record and will play three games this week. On Tuesday morning they will host the Oklahoma City Barons, on Friday they will visit the Texas Stars, and on Sunday they will return home to face the Toronto Marlies.
