Interviewed recently by the Sun-Sentinel, Panthers coach Kevin Dineen seemed pretty adamant in his response about the prospect of not bringing up San Antonio Rampage goaltender Jacob Markstrom.
The Panthers are last in the NHL in goals-against per game at 3.83, compared to last year's 2.63 GAA (12th).
'We've got two goalies right now that are proven NHL guys,' he said. 'They have not performed up to their expectations these last couple of games. For us to have success they've got to be better and we've got to be better as a team.'"
What in the world do the Panthers have to lose by sending down Clemmensen and giving Markstrom a shot at backup at the VERY least? Do they really think he's not ready? I'm just having a hard time fathoming such stupidity, I feel like there has got to be something else about this situation no one knows about. Any ideas?
