The AHL's Board of Governors ended its yearly meeting by announcing some changes for the 12-13 AHL season. The Rampage will now play in the renamed South Division, with the Charlotte Checkers moving in replacing the Abbotsford Heat.

From Kevin O at the D and C: (Rochester VP of hockey operations Ted) Nolan says the Amerks won't sign any affiliation deal that leaves them with no input on their AHL roster. The team continues to investigate all possible scenarios for next season and, in an ideal world, could finalize an affiliation by the AHL All-Star break Jan. 30-31. More above, with Santos comments.

AHL Rochester Americans: five game dates set in stone

From Our Sports Central: Opponents and start times for these games will be announced when the complete 2009-10 American Hockey League schedule is released this summer W4E say: not sure I've ever witnessed this brand of scheduling previously. Five home "games" announced, minus opposing teams. Hmm. Tradition perhaps? If anyone can help with an explanation please leave it in the comments.

On the Farm: Everblades' playoff success get big assist from Amerks

From John Kucko: Forwards Ross Carlson, Jacob Micflikier, Andrew Sweetland, Mathieu Roy, Kevin Baker and defensemen Doug O’Brien and Matt Duffy helped the Everblades to a 4-1 series win over the Gwinnett Gladiators in the best of-seven South Division semifinals. Florida will now meet the South Carolina Stingrays in the division finals, beginning on Friday, April 24th as the top-seeded Everblades host the Stingrays in Estero, Florida for back-to-back contests. Some good scouting reports contained within as well. Ever been to a 'Blades game at Germain Arena in Estero? Top notch organization and facility.

Report: Panthers affiliate Rochester Americans to woo Sabres?

From Rochesterhomepage.net's Meghan Backus: The owner of the Rochester Americans says he is willing to talk with the Buffalo Sabres about becoming their minor league affiliate again (they are currently in their first year aligned with Florida). If low attendance this season is any indication, Amerks fans might welcome this news. So much for patience in building a winning organization. One lousy year and they're ready to bail. Nice. (Amerks' owner Curt Styres) said he's not against talking with the Sabres after a contract with the Panthers is up. One more thing to watch this summer. JM the GM must be pleased. Add this to his growing list of headaches, including David Booth and Craig Anderson's contract status, acquiring a scorer, etc.

Amerks: Brodeur joins Captain Rory on AHL All-Star team

From Amerks.com: "(Mike) Brodeur joins Amerks captain and veteran defenseman Rory Fitzpatrick, who was named the captain of the PlanetUSA team by the AHL last month." Congrats to Fitzpatrick and Brodeur from The Box. Thanks to Japers' Rink for the inspiration!
