After a brief stint in Kansas City, the lowly Scouts relocated to Denver, becoming the Colorado Rockies in 1976, After managing only a single playoff appearance in six years, the team moved again, this time to New Jersey where they became the Devils.
The New Jersey Devils started out in 1974 as the Kansas City Scouts, lasting only two short season before moving to Denver and continuing on as the Colorado Rockies before finally relocating to the Garden State.
After nine miserable seasons in the Bay Area, the Golden Seals packed their bags and headed for Cleveland in a futile effort to survive the turbulent times of the 1970’s. The NHL's brief stay in Cleveland would be a short and bitter one.
