Regardless, Tomas Fleischmann should be fun to watch through the year. Post-game wraps from the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel.

In the absence of any broadcast, we’re taking our toys over to On Frozen Pond for the evening, as GR has been kind enough to host another preseason of game chats for those unable to attend, so come on by. We’ll of course be back with our own live Open Thread madness when the regular season kicks off.
Even the National Hockey League is failing to produce statistics for this one, so we'll give you a quick recap based upon what we recall from a terrific evening at OnFrozenPond: David Booth: 2g. Dennis Wideman: 1g. And that's what we've got. If nothing else, it's a victory. And you just knew Wideman would score. More to come in the a.m.
The relationship between the Rochester Americans and Florida Panthers has been unstable at times but that doesn't mean they aren't going to discuss extending their affiliation agreement that ends at the end of the 2010/2011 season. From Kevin Oklobzija of the Democrat and Chronicle: "We want to develop a long-term relationship here in Rochester," (Panthers GM Dale) Tallon said. "We’re committed to being here. We want things to be great here." Tallon and Amerks owner Curt Styres are expected to chat this afternoon and/or evening, and probably again on Thursday before the Panthers play the Boston Bruins in a 7 p.m. NHL preseason game at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. Lots more above on the negotiations as well as previewing Thursday's "neutral site" match.
