More from the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel.
From Scott Burnside: "In South Florida, the path is less clear [than with Chicago's recent rebuild], although the fan base isn't as bad as many outside the area believe. The Panthers actually ranked 22nd in average attendance last season and the season-ticket base is in the neighborhood of 10,000. That's not to suggest this is Hockeytown South; but, as with so many markets, the key to finding out what this market is capable of is to put a decent product on the ice." Much more above.

From Keith at LetsGoAmerks!: I have not seen (the new sweaters) myself but I’m told they have a very nice "simple" look to them. The team is holding a press conference on Tuesday afternoon at 3pm at Blue Cross Arena. Stop down if you’re in the area, it’s open to the public. The Amerks will wear four different jerseys this season. They’ll have the standard white and blue jerseys. The 3rd jersey being shown off on Tuesday and a special 75th Anniversary jersey that will be worn against Hershey in the first week of the season. Click through for more, and check out the photo of Rochester's dressing room ceiling "mural". Wildly original and rather pleasing. Reminder: Panthers (and some present and future Americans) take on the Boston Bruins Thursday evening from Blue Cross Arena at 7pm.
From OFP: Not only did (Stephen) Weiss get rammed hard into the side boards by rookie defenseman Erik Gudbranson during a scrimmage, but he also traded punches with Rostislav Olesz during practice (Monday). Phenomenal. As GR goes on to point out, Olesz went on a bit of tear after the altercation. Any of this sound similar to Nathan Horton's performance when he - too infrequently - played mad? Got to like this. With A LOT of positive consistency, Rusty may yet win some hearts and minds.
