Recent history would seem to indicate that he is. Does this mean we should expect a big trade or will last year's experience give NH pause?
Buster says that the A's are going to trade the Compliant Pig at some point. Hopefully last night's ginormous bomb helps that trade value. The real question is: What do the A's get back in return? Assuming that he is not packaged with another player, let's throw out some names that we could expect and then reply by calling everyone else's trade proposals ridiculous and homerish. My guess - straight up for Domonic Brown. The link above is to the notes on mlbtraderumors.com - the original link is Insiders Only - http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/blog?name=olney_buster&id=6775135

Link above is to the radio interview on the Score's website. Dabullz Recap John Paxson appeared on the Mully and Hanley show on 670 the Score this morning. Paxson talked about the state of the team, the looming trade deadline, and addressing the roster logjams. Here is a recap of what he had to say: * Doesn’t want for a young player, especially Derrick Rose, who is committed to winning, to be affected by the Bulls’ losing. Points to Kevin Durant, with Oklahoma City, having only 5 wins and Kevin Love, in Minnesota, only having 10 wins. You have to look at the individual and what they’re made of. Derrick has a really good base. While it’s a concern, Paxson doesn’t htink that Derrick is the type that will let it affect him. Will he get frustrated? Absolutely, but in the long run, he will be okay. * Recognizes that the roster is overloaded with guards and wings. It has been difficult for guys to get a lot of consistent minutes, especially with all the injuries. Would love to move some pieces to alleviate the logjam and give some guys on the roster the opportunity to play. * Some players have spokeon out and some are not happy in their roles. That means that they’re not happy with the minutes they’re getting. It bothers him that for these players, it’s not totally abou the team and trying to win, but more about what the individual needs. * At some point, and that days coming soon, he is going to clear some issues up by making a trade, or just saying to the players, "Look, these are the guys who are going to play." and having a tighter rotation and living with the consequences that brings. More of the recap at the link.
With the NFL's trading deadline less than a week away, there is already one big name that has hit the rumor mill. There are reports that the San Francisco 49ers are interested in the Bengals T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Housh is a free agent after this season and there doesn't seem to be any way the team can keep him (other than using the franchise tag). According to a league source, Houshmandzadeh's name has come up quite frequently during conversation at Niners headquarters in recent weeks. Apparently, 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Martz is enamored with Houshmandzadeh and may have learned some positive things about the receiver from a member of the Zampese family who Martz remains close to. Housh tied the Patriots' Wes Welker for the NFL lead in receptions last season. Currently, he is by far the team leader in receptions (31), receiving yards (351) and touchdown receptions (three). He caught seven passes for 85 yards and two TDs against the Cowboys last week. Despite being 2-3, the Niners have a great shot at winning the weak NFC West. The Arizona Cardinals lead the division at 3-2 but doesn't have the look of a runaway champion. The Seattle Seahawks are in shambles right now and the St. Louis Rams look like the worst team in the NFL. It is there for the taking and adding Houshmandzadeh to the Niners could put them over the top.
