After an exceptional evening of tight-knit conference hockey in the East, tonight has the ability to keep even those of us without a team in the mix close to a real-time scoreboard. And it will probably remain thus until early April.

Note: this standings board is not updated to include the Philadelphia win (couldn't find one anywhere). Keep in mind, the teams are all the same, only that PHI now sits in the fourth spot with 67 points, bumping MON and NYR to the fifth and sixth spots.
We're all aware of the repurcussions of Florida's SO victory over New York, but what's on tap for this evening regarding the Cats?
- Pittsburgh @ Toronto, 7p. Rumor has it that the Pens' Sergei Gonchar returns after a long absence. Could this be exactly what Crosby & Company needed? W4E say: No matter what, the Pittsburgh power play will improve substantially. The Leafs, though pretty well done playoff-wise, can only improve, and taking a piece out of the Pens would make for a lot of smiles at ACC.
- Columbus @ Carolina, 7p. These two clubs have the same primary record: 27-23-5, 55P. Both sit in 9th place in their respective conference, and each has played fifty-five games. Spooky? W4E say: The Jackets are in a virtual dead-heat tie for the eigthth playoff spot (a land they've not seen since...ever), while the Hurricanes are five points back. BJ's make the postseason: the power of Hitch compels them...
- In earlier "action", Philadelphia did exactly what was expected of them in defeating the Islanders 5-1, utilizing five different scorers. The Flyers now sit in the fourth spot with 67 points. W4E say: Zzzz.
Hard to pick a Game of the Night for Florida fans, but if you must know which match is more important to the Cats, do check out Sports Club Stats. Every day. Awesome site which I neglected to post earlier. Poke around it and enjoy. There's no end to the fun you'll have.
Anyone else beginning to get "up" for tomorrow's Caps game? Who's going? Any chance of sending pics for me to post, greedy self-serving SOB that I am? Remember to stay close to Japers' Rink for an unbiased opinion on All Things Capitals. Maybe not unbiased, but certainly informative and entertaining.
