NOTE: This will be the last time I utilize the NHL's standings - without applying it correctly. Believe it or not I do not have the correct software - at work, no less - to clean it up. So: I'm aware of it, and working on it!
YESTERDAY
Got a tiny bit of help and a little bit of hurt, but all in all a pretty good night for Florida in the Standings. No less than four clubs are tied with 66 points.
- The Broons shook down Raleigh, scaring children, grabbing women, and smacking down the Hurricanes 5-1 on Glen Wesley Night. Carolina is now five points out of eighth; getting tight for Coach Mo and Da Boyz.
- Fans in Toronto must have been thrilled watching the visiting Sabres hand a 4-1 loss on their beloved Leafs. Drew Stafford had two PP goals in the Buffalo victory, allowing them to keep pace with the Cats. And the Rangers. And the Canadiens.
TONIGHT
Two biggies for Panther fans to keep in mind tonight. Seek out your Open Threads!
- NY Islanders @ NY Rangers, 7p. Twenty-six points is all that separates these two cross-towners. W4E say: This will be a sick match. Don't write off the Isles; in fact, get on the bandwagon now, cuz these guys are gonna play mucho spoilers. The Downeasters are hungry for blood...and John Tavares.
- Montreal @ Washington, 7:30p. Do the Habs right the ship and catch the Caps napping in DC? W4E say: Nope. Montreal is a mess, with photogate and Kovalev dovetailing at the same moment in space. Seriously, can anyone stop Ovie when his game is on? And when is his game NOT on? Caps in a hammer-blow, thankfully for the Panthers.
