Tuesday Caterwaul: Panthers Open Forum

New, comments

Just waiting for word on Kenndal McArdle's status: waiver pickup or does he make it to Rochester? Will Jason Garrison (groin) return Thursday?

Neither Dallas nor Tampa Bay performed any favors for Florida, as the Lightning squashed a late comeback attempt by the Stars to win 5-4. Former Cat Dominic Moore had two goals in the victory.

From the farm: forward prospect Zach Hyman scored three goals (1PS, 1SH) and two assists to lead the Hamilton Redwings to a 9-2 thrashing of the Milton Icehawks in OJHL action Monday. Florida's fifth-round pick in '10 now has 32 points (13 goals) in 12 games.

As of Tuesday morning, the Panthers are four points back of the Caps and Bolts (8 points), two behind Atlanta (6), and tied with Carolina (4). Florida shares the NHL lead for highest goals-for/goals-against differential (PIT, +7). Only two other clubs in the Eastern Conference have played as few games as Florida's four (NYR, CAR).

A big Happy Birthday shout to general manager Dale Tallon, who turns 60 today. A particularly shiny bit of bling was sent his way courtesy of the Blackhawks. Via Dreger/Twitter:

John McDonough presented Dale Tallon his 2010 Stanley Cup ring this morning in South Florida. Today is also Dale's 60th bday. Nice!!

Have at it...
