As expected, Panthers defensive stud Brian Campbell was announced to the NHL All-Star roster this afternoon. Congrats to Soupy for not only having the chance to represent the team at the game, but for having a stellar first half of the season; this reward is much deserved. This is Campbell's fourth All-Star appearance; the first two as a member of the Buffalo Sabres in 2007 and '08 & in 2009 with the Dale Tallon-helmed Blackhawks.

Unfortunately for several other Panthers who excelled in the first half, such as Kris Versteeg, Stephen Weiss and Tomas Fleischmann, as well as blueliners Dmitry Kulikov and Jason Garrison, Campbell is the only Panther at the big show this year. Erik Gudbranson was snubbed from the rookie lineup despite the festivities being in his hometown of Ottawa, though Gudbranson's numbers and play haven't exactly been All-Star game material just yet.

You can check out the full roster of players selected right here. Congrats again to Soupy and have fun!
