Marcel Goc (number 9 in white, above) finally found the back of the net for Adler Mannheim during a tough road loss on Friday. The Florida Panthers center scored his first goal of the season and finished with +1 rating during the 2-1 defeat played in front of a crowd of 7,331 at the O2 Arena in Hamburg. The Freezers got on the board first with left wing Colin Murphy scoring at 11:16 of the first period with assists going to defenseman Mathieu Roy and Dallas Stars center Jamie Benn. Goc would tie things up for Adler Mannheim early in the second period. Mike Glumac and Yannic Seidenberg would get the helpers on the even strength tally which came at the 4:55 mark. In the third period, Jerome Flaake put the home team on the top with just under six minutes remaining in regulation time, beating Adler goalie Dennis Endras. Mannheim only mustered twenty-three shots on goal against Hamburg netminder Dimitrij Kotschnew while Endras kept the outplayed Eagles in the contest by making thirty-five stops to earn second star of the game honors. The loss was only the second of the season for Adler Mannheim, Hamburg even their record at 4-4. Goc has now picked up a total of five points (1G/4A) in the four games he has played in the D.E.L. (German Elite League).
