Cats look to salvage a point in season series-closer vs Isles

Joel Auerbach

In light of yesterday's events in Boston we are going to frame this afternoon's 'Waul as a somewhat low-key affair, at least outside of the comment section. Undoubtedly each of us continues to share in the heartbreak from Beantown, and we'll be respectful of the situation going forward through the day.

That said, the Cats are on Long Island this evening, after which only six games remain on the 2013 schedule (and a scant two from Sunrise). GR reports Panthers blueliner Filip Kuba will not be in the lineup (unspecified reason) against the Islanders, and Marcel Goc did not participate in the morning skate. Jacob Markstrom (6-10-1) will get his 18th start of the year while Evgeni Nabokov (20-11-5) is the early candidate at the other end.

For more on the opposition check out Lighthouse Hockey; the LBC Live GameThread fires up at 6:30. Otherwise have at it below, and be safe all.
