Kopecky was on the ice when Tomas Surovy scored in the first period to stake the Slovaks to a 1-0 lead. Gerhard Unterluggauer replied for Austria in the second frame. Thomas Vanek scored the only goal in the shootout as the Austria gained two points in the standings. Bernhard Starkbaum made 42 saves to post the win.
Tomas Fleischmann (pictured) fired three shots on goal but failed to pick up his first point of the tournament during the Czech Republic's 4-2 win over Slovenia today in Stockholm. Fleischmann logged 12:48 of ice time and finished the tilt with an even rating. The Czechs scored all of their goals on specials teams, notching three on the power play and one shorthanded. Slovenia jumped ahead 2-1 in the first period before Jiri Hudler scored to even the game with 43 seconds left in the frame. Zbynek Michalek scored the winner and Jiri Novotny netted the clincher in the third period.
