GameDay Caterwaul: Panthers Open Forum

New, comments

Florida returns home for a three-game homestand, welcoming the Calgary Flames to Sunrise in an attempt to return to their point-gathering ways.

After what was probably their second-worst performance of the season against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, the Panthers return home to try and right the ship against a very surprising Calgary Flames club, one that sits at 18 points through 15 games. The Flames were a team that many predicted to struggle mightily this year, perhaps even competing for a spot in the Jack Eichel/Connor McDavid sweepstakes, but so far the Flames and head coach Bob Hartley have shut up everyone with a workman-like effort nearly every game. The Panthers will need to bring that same approach to have any shot at competing with the Flames this afternoon, and hopefully head coach Gerard Gallant will have the troops back to the effort we've grown used to so far this season versus the snooze-fest that was the Flyers game.
