Erik Gudbranson scored midway through the third period goal to give Canada a 2-1 lead. France rallied to tie the game on Stephane Da Costa's second power-play tally of the Group A tilt just under two minutes later, and won the game when Pierre-Edouard Bellemare beat James Reimer for the only goal of the shootout. Gudbranson logged 14:19 TOI and finished the game with a +1 rating. Brayden Schenn scored the other goal for Canada, who was stymied by French goaltender Cristobal Huet. Jimmy Hayes set up Colin MacDonald's second period goal that made it 4-0 as the Americans routed the host team by a 6-1 count in Group B action. In addition to his assist, Hayes finished the game with a +2 rating in 10:31 TOI. Vincent Trocheck went 9/17 on draws, took a slashing minor, and went +2 in 14:06 TOI. Drew Shore went 3/6 on face-offs, logged 9:41 of ice time, and finished the game with an even rating. None of the Panthers registered a shot on goal.
