Back in August, Fox Sports made the change to drop Bill Lindsay from the TV broadcasts of Florida Panthers games, and fans were (rightfully) upset. Here are the poll results from the LBC posting of the news:

Well, the team seems to have paid attention to that, as they've made the decision to bring Lindsay back as the color analyst on the team's radio broadcasts. Though it's only for home games, I'm sure that many will be glad to hear that Billy is back, as his insight and knowledge of the game was always pleasant to listen to.

From the club:

The Florida Panthers announced today that Bill Lindsay has been named Radio Color Analyst for all Panthers home games for the 2015-16 season.

Along with his on-air role, Lindsay will serve as an Alumni Ambassador for the Panthers Alumni Association, while acting as the lead on-ice instructor for the club’s Try Hockey for Free youth hockey initiative.

"An original Panther, Billy has formed a strong connection with the South Florida community over the years," said Panthers Executive Chairman Peter Luukko. "We look forward to his continuing contributions in the broadcast booth and on the ice growing the game of hockey in South Florida."

Before serving as part of the Florida Panthers television (2009-2015) and radio broadcast team (2007-09), Lindsay played 506 games for the Panthers (1993-99, 2001-02), recording 165 points (67-98—165). Lindsay ranks eighth all-time for games played in a Panthers uniform and fifth all-time for Panthers in penalty minutes (609 PIM).

"I am very grateful and blessed to begin this new role and opportunity with the Florida Panthers," said Lindsay. "It’s an exciting time for our organization and I am thrilled to continue to be part of it."

Lindsay joins Panthers radio play-by-play announcer Doug Plagens for Florida’s final preseason match-up with the Tampa Bay Lightning this Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 PM on the Florida Panthers Radio Network. The newly formed Radio Network can be heard from the Treasure Coast to the Florida Keys on 560 WQAM (Broward/Miami-Dade), 640 Sports (Palm Beach), 1210 ESPN Deportes (Miami-Dade), 760 ESPN Deportes (Palm Beach), 97.7 The Wave (Monroe) and 107.9 FM/1370AM WAXE (Indian River).
