  • NOTES: In case you've been off-planet harvesting Pluto's abundant water supply throughout the summer, this is the Panthers' season opener... Parking lots open at 4 pm, doors at 5:30 (these are new times, btw)... Per the club: first 2,000 folks to visit the FOX Sports Florida booth will get a rally towel, while all attendees will receive a magnetic schedule calendar... The Opening Night ticket special can be found here... The Cats announced on Friday former Coyotes director of media relations Chris Wojcik has been named Florida's senior director of communications, so a hearty welcome to ya from LBC, sir! The team combined with Eastern Airlines to provide storm recovery supplies to the Bahamas recently, as the effects of Hurricane Joaquin have continued to plague the island nation's residents... The Booster Club returns to the BB&T so give them a visit behind Section 127... Back to the ice: GM DT stated F Rocco Grimaldi began skating yesterday and could be cleared to play in a week, which is kinda huge... Washington, Anaheim & Florida are the only clubs without an appearance in 2015-16... Not much else to highlight as the Panthers have yet to play a single second of the regular season, and it's been a week since their last action of any sort, so on that note, thank you from the entire LBC staff for joining us - be it commenters or lurkers or whatever - as the 2015-16 NHL season launches in Sunrise! No doubt we'll have something to discuss along the way :) And do check out this preview of FS-Florida's latest Inside The Panthers which will debut after the game.

NHL Preview:

Season series: The Florida Panthers won two of three games against the Philadelphia Flyers last season, including the only one played at BB&T Center. On Nov. 1, 2014, defensemen Willie Mitchell and Aaron Ekblad scored and goaltender Roberto Luongo made 36 saves in a 2-1 victory. Forward Jakub Voracek led the Flyers with two goals and three points in the three games against the Panthers.
