Well, that's not the case. The Panthers first move on free agent frenzy day was to sign James Reimer to a 5-year, $17M contract.
In 32 games with the hapless Leafs, Reimer went a very respectable 11-12-7 with a 2.49 GAA and .918 save percentage.
With the much better Sharks, Reimer posted a 6-2 record with a 1.62 GAA and .938 save percentage. He made one playoff appearance during San Jose's run to the Stanley Cup Final.
The Cats are now solidly set in goal for the next five season with Roberto Luongo as the starter and Reimer now the 1B option.
