It’s not often, if ever, that you see a Florida Panthers preseason game televised locally, but this year’s final exhibition tilt will indeed be broadcast by Fox Sports Florida.

The Panthers will take on the New Jersey Devils at Tate Rink, at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY on October 8, at 7:30 p.m. before the two teams meet in Sunrise five days later to open the regular season.

This is the fourth time the Cats will spend time at West Point readying for the season. The Panthers did team-building exercises (queue Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords here) in 1995, 2007 and 2014.

Fox Sports Florida’s SVP/GM Steve Tello had this to say:

Steve Goldstein and Denis Potvin will have the call with “Red Deer” Randy Moller providing analysis.
