The Florida Panthers are off tonight as they prepare to close out the two-game trip to Pennsylvania with tomorrow night’s game with the 3-2 Philadelphia Flyers, who are coming off an impressive 8-2 win over the Washington Capitals.

The Springfield Thunderbirds dropped to 0-4 after two weeks of AHL action. Springfield lost 3-2 to the Bruins in Providence on Friday, were beaten 4-3 by the Hatrford Wolf Pack in their home opener on Saturday and followed that up with a 2-1 loss to the visiting Toronto Marlies.

Chase Balisy scored both goals in the loss to the Bruins. Jayce Hawryluk and Curtis Valk had assists and Samuel Montembeault stopped 25 of 28 shots in his AHL debut.

Hawryluk, Reece Scarlett and Juho Lammikko were the goalscorers in the loss to Hartford. Lammikko also added an assist as did Denis Malgin, Josh Brown, Curtis Valk and Blaine Byron. Harri Satreri was the losing netminder, finishing with 34 saves.

Mikkel Aagaard scored the only goal against the Marlies, with the assists going to Brown and Valk. Montembeault took the loss in net, finishing with 21 saves on 23 shots.
