Cats send McCann and McIlrath to Springfield

NHL: Ottawa Senators at Florida Panthers Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida Panthers get another off-day to bask in the glory of Tuesday night’s wild win over the Ottawa Senators.

Next up for the Cats are the Anaheim Ducks. It will be the first meeting of 2016-17 between the two teams that came into the league together back in 1993.

A win would give the Panthers their first three-game winning streak of the season. In case you were wondering they’ve failed to build on a two-game streak five times so far.

In personnel news, the club assigned forward Jared McCann and defenseman Dylan McIlrath to the Springfield Thunderbirds, who could use the help.

McCann looked much better in his second stint with team, collecting four helpers in 12 January games.

The move means that Aleksander Barkov should return to the lineup soon, hopefully for the Ducks game.
