Rangers climb back into series with Senators

The New York Rangers cruised to a 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators last night at Madison Square Garden. Mats Zuccarello scored a goal and added an assist and Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves as the Rangers cut the Senators lead in the series to two games to one.

In Nashville, the Predators edged the St. Louis Blues 2-1 to take a commanding three games to one in the series. Pekka Rinne made 32 stops and Ryan Ellis and James Neal scored for the Predators. Joel Edmundson was the only Blue to light the lamp.

Two Game 4’s are on the slate for tonight. Pittsburgh will host Washington (NBCSN - 7:3o pm) at PPG Paints Arena and Edmonton will host Anaheim (NBCSN - 10 pm).

Now for some Florida Panthers news:

Add San Jose Sharks assistant (and former Panthers defenseman) Bob Boughner to the list of candidates for the vacant head coach job.

Center Nick Bjugstad scored a goal in Team USA’s 5-2 exhibition win over Italy yesterday in Milan. The Americans will open the 2017 IIHF World Championship on Friday against Germany in Cologne.

In ECHL playoff action, Sam Brittain made 26 stops in the Manchester Monarchs 6-1 win over the Brampton Beast. Thomas Schemitsch had two shots on goal and finished with a -1 rating in the Game 4 victory. Manchester can eliminate Brampton with another win on home ice tonight.
