There was a little bit of NHL action on Monday, with the two biggest pieces of news being that the Tampa Bay Lightning signed center Tyler Johnson to a new seven-year deal worth $35 million and the Dallas Stars inked Radek Faska to a three-year $6.6 million deal.

Yesterday’s other signings saw Yohann Auvitu (Edmonton Oilers), Brandon Tanev (Winnipeg Jets), and Chris Tierney (San Jose Sharks) sign one-year, one-way contracts. Auvitu left the New Jersey Devils for Edmonton, while Tanev and Tierney stayed put.

Forward Zack Mitchell and goaltender Steve Michalek remained with the Minnesota Wild organization, with the pair each signing a one-year, two-way deal.

Former Florida Panthers assistant coach Lindy Ruff was added to the staff of New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault and the Los Angeles Kings bench boss John Stevens added former player Pierre Turgeon to his staff as an assistant.
