After going through a four-hour hearing on Thursday, forward Tomas Tatar and the Detroit Red Wings came to terms before the arbitrator handed down his decision. Tatar signed a four-year contract with an average annual value of $5.3 million.

Speedy forward Ryan Dzingel and the Ottawa Senators avoided arbitration by agreeing to a new two-year contract worth $1.8 million. Dzingel totaled 14 goals and 32 points for the Senators in 2016-17.

The Calgary Flames signed defenseman Juuso Valimaki to a three-year, entry-level contract. The Flames selected Valimaki in the first round (17th overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Center Tyler Gaudet remained with the Arizona Coyotes organization signing a one-year, two-way deal. The undrafted Gaudet has played in 20 games in the NHL over the last three years.

The St. Louis Blues re-signed goaltending prospect Jordan Binnington to a one-year, two-way contract. The Blues took Binnington in the third round of the 2011 draft.
