Predators lock up Johansen for eight years

NHL: Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Nashville Predators and restricted free agent Ryan Johansen have a agreed to a new $64 million contract that will keep the center in Music City through the 2024-25 season. Johansen scored 14 goals and added 47 assists in his first full season with the Predators after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenseman Seth Jones on January 6, 2016.

Undrafted goaltender Collin Delia signed a two-year, entry-level deal with the Chicago Blackhawks. Delia spent the last three seasons at Merrimack University where he posted a 9-8-3 record with a 2.15 goals against average and .927 save percentage in 2016-17.

This happened a few days ago, but wanted to make note of it. Former Florida Panthers assistant coach Scott Allen has joined the staff of new Arizona Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet. Good luck with your new gig, Scott.
