The lowly Colorado Avalanche won the race for unrestricted NCAA free agent Alex Kerfoot, signing the forward to a two-year, entry-level contract. Kerfoot amassed 16 goals and 45 points in 36 games for Harvard last year. The 23-year-old was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round of the 2012 Entry Draft, but went unsigned.
