Panthers’ Aleksander Barkov looking to make a mark

The NHL All-Star game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. with the Central Division facing the Pacific Division.

Aleksander Barkov, making his first appearance in league’s mid-season showcase, and the Atlantic Division team will take on the Metropolitan Division next at 4:30 p.m. and then the winners of those two games will meet at 6 p.m. to decide the winner of the 3-on-3 tournament.

In yesterday’s skills competition: Connor McDavid won the fastest skater competition; Johnny Gaudreau won the puck control relay; Alex Pietrangelo won the passing challenge; Marc-Andre Fleury took the save streak competition and Alex Ovechkin registered the hardest shot at 101.3 mph.
