The Florida Panthers have only played one regular season, but for a second time they have reached out to Springfield, recalling 22-year-old rookie forward Juho Lammikko yesterday.
Lammikko, a third-round pick in 2014, has appeared in one game with Springfield this season. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound native of Noormarkku, Finland, suited up in 59 games with the Thunderbirds in 2017-18, producing 8 goals and 28 points.
It will interesting to see if Lammikko makes his NHL debut in Florida’s home-opener against Columbus on Thursday night or if the Cats will lgo with Maxim Mamin or Michael Haley instead.
Speaking of the Blue Jackets, they rolled to a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche last night, raising their record to 2-1 on the season.
