Florida Panthers Top 25 Under 25: #18 Sebastian Repo

New, comments

2017 seventh-rounder expected to play in Springfield this season

NHL: Preseason-Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

#18: Sebastian Repo

Position: Forward

Age: 22

Team: Tappara Tampere (SM-Liiga)

Drafted in 2017, 6th Round (184th Overall)

Late bloomer Sebastian Repo was Florida’s final selection in the 2018 Entry Draft. He scored 11 goals and 21 assists in 46 games for Tappara Tampere during the 2016-17 season to garner notice of the Panthers front office.

After signing an entry-level contract and spending camp with the Cats, the 21-year-old forward returned to Finland and produced 14 goals and 12 assists in 50 games, again for Tappara. In the SM-Liiga playoffs, Repo notched 4 goals and added 3 helpers in 15 games as Tappara fell to Karpat in the league final. Repo displayed a feisty side by racking up 41 PIM during the postseason.

Repo will be at training camp again and is expected to play in North America this season. With an extremely fierce battle on the horizon for spots in the bottom-six, look for the 22-year-old to spend at least a season honing his craft with the Springfield Thunderbirds.
